A Complete Guide To Build DIY Solar Panels

It is a known fact that the non-renewable energy resources are fast reducing and are on the verge of extinction. In such a circumstance it has become to use alternative energy resources and the use of solar energy is fast gaining popularity. You can use the free energy from sun to power your home through DIY solar panels. Although, you can easily find a read made solar panel, they are very expensive; however, you can build your solar panels at home at the fraction of cost.

Step-by-Step Guide to build DIY Solar Panels:

The DIY Solar panel kit you buy would have all the material required to build the panel. The first step to build the panel is to join the photo voltaic cells and the solar plates. You can use the guide book provided along with the kit for reference. Typically, the book contains photographs to help you build the panel easily. The Photo-voltaic cells are used since it has the capacity to produce electricity directly from sunlight. Place the solar plates over the photo-voltaic cells make sure both the ends of the solar plate and the cells are tied firmly with wires.

  • Next, place the semi conductor block below the solar plates and photo-voltaic cells set up and tie them with lot of conductor wires.
  • Check if the solar plates are tied well to the photo-voltaic cells and the semi conductor block. Also, make sure the plate is place in such a place where it is exposed directly to the sun. Make sure that the sun ray’s falls directly on the solar plates, proper positioning of the solar plates is crucial so that it traps maximum amount of sun’s energy.
  • Next step is to connect the set up to the converter. The converter works to filter the energy received from the sun and the non electronic components are eliminated. The energy converted by the filter has only electrons.
  • The last step in building the DIY solar panels is to connect the battery. The battery traps the electrons filtered by the converter and the stores the electricity. You can use about 10 batteries if you wish to increase your storage capacity. The electricity obtained can be directly used to run household appliances.

The Benefits of DIY Solar Panels are Discussed Below:

  • One of the major benefits of DIY solar panels is that it helps you lower your energy cost. By using the DIY solar panels you can generate your own electricity and by using the solar panels to its fullest potential you can completely eliminate the need to pay power bills.
  • The DIY solar panels are tested by several people and it has emerged as the best alternative energy source. It is cheap and extremely cost effective.
  • By using the DIY solar panels to generate electricity at your home you can contribute in reducing the burden on the extinction of the non renewable energy resources.
  • Building DIY solar panels is a fun process, you can involve your children in the building project, and you can educate them about the importance of using the renewable energy source while they have building the panels.

Resource Recovery Plant - A New Solution To Our Needs ?

Before the waste management crisis enters a crucial state in the capital city of Trivandrum, saju and family has devised an innovative method of waste disposal. The "Resource Recovery System “was devised by Mr saju three months ago at his hometown.

Waste is nothing but a misplaced resource, says saju. Using this thought he created the resource recovery system. By simply returning the waste into soil we can totally recover the resource from waste. With just rupees 250 and a 10sq inch of land this system can easily be set up.

The method is as follows-

The waste is considerably reduced by squeezing it with great force and disposed into a cylindrical furnace. The bacteria that is hazardous to humans and plants are destroyed by the exposed sunlight and heat. The waste is not turned into manure inside the furnace but becomes manure when the decomposed waste is dug into the soil. A single cylindrical furnace is filled within 3 to 4 months .Once the waste is filled the cylinder is removed and the waste inside would have turned into a cake like substance .This cake like substance is then removed and dug directly into the mud. The total disposal of waste and resource recover through an eco friendly way is the advantage of this system. Plastic wastes can also be disposed into this plant. Plastic covers and sheets are pressed into blocks and these blocks can be taken and given away for recycling .Inspired, saju’s neighbors have already started using this system.

Mr. M.A swaminathan is conducting a research on this Resource Recovery Plant.
