Waste Water Treatment Plant In Hotels

As per an ombudsman’s order the hotels at Ramanattukara have installed latest waste water treatment plants .Hotel Malabar plaza has installed a plant costing around 15 lakhs and has already started operating . In this plant 4000 liters of waste water gets treated everyday. All the other plants at various hotels are undergoing final stages of completion at Vaidyarangadi.

The waste water from the hotels at Vaidyarangadi used to flow into the Chethupalam canal and pollute it. A native of Ramanattukara Mr. Mohammed approached the ombudsman against this pollution .As per this, a sitting was called in which the ombudsman declared that the hotels would have to install water treatment plants and consequently Hotel Malabar plaza installed the latest plant costing quite an amount. The plant was installed jointly by Bio Energy system ,  Kozhikode and united tech, Ernakulam . The waste water is treated with chlorine and urea. “The clean water obtained is used for farming purposes” says the hotel owner Mr. Imichikoya haji.

A big tank container measuring 15 meter long and 8 meter wide is constructed and divided into 8 layers to treat the waste water.

A high capacity bio gas plant is also installed here which makes use of the hotel waste to produce cooking gas which is quite enough to meet with the hotels requirement.
